Salley Gardens

Dans le film My Lady, réalisé par Richard Eyre, scénario de Ian Mac Iwan d'après son roman Dans l'intérêt de l'enfant cette chanson est interprétée de façon bouleversante par Emma Thompson. Je vous recommande les deux  versions : l'écrite (merci à ma voisine) et le film qui en est le double très réussi.

J'ai cherché en vain la séquence chantée par la comédienne. Mais  celle-ci est aussi émouvante avec les voix de Maura O'Connell  et Karen Matheson.

Down by the Salley Gardens my love and I did meet;

She passed the Salley Gardens with little snow-white feet.

She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;

But I, being young and foolish, with her did not agree.

In a field by the river my love and I did stand,

Voyez comme on y arrive à plusieurs : Catherine C. m'a transmis le lien vers la séquence où Emma Thompson chante ce poème (est ce vraiment elle qui chante ? peu importe). Je m'empresse donc de compléter cet article.
